Risk & Safety

If you witness or are a victim of an individual which is considered to be displaying unacceptable behavior, if they are verbally or physically harassing and/or abusing a game participant (player, coach, spectator, or official).

INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

As participants in ORHC,  we may encounter situations which we believe call for immediate attention. It is important that participants follow the chain of command and report incidents to the appropriate individuals within their competitive club/association so they can be handled appropriately.

ORHC ONLY accepts inicident reports which have been completed in its entirety and submitted to the Risk Manager.

The Risk Manager will facilitate the incident report submission to the President of ORHC and/or the President of the opposing club/association. Typically three (3) weeks is provided by/to the club to investigate and provide resolution to the Risk Manager.

DRESSING ROOM GUIDELINES
The Risk & Safety Directors of the Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) have stressed the need for supervision of dressing rooms while players are in attendance before, during and after games or practices. Team Officials are responsible for the safety and welfare of their players at ALL times during any sanctioned events, this definitely includes while players are changing in the dressing rooms both prior to and after on-ice activities. HEO covers this repeatedly in all of their clinics, and specifically discussed in Speak Out, given that supervision is the single most effective method of prevention when it comes to conduct-based issues. As a member of the team, you are an active participant in providing a safe, risk free environment for the players. The following guidelines are reminders of potential concerns for your dressing room:
