B League Playoff Dates and Structure 2010
The B League will be running two round robin playoffs this season.
The A pool playoffs is for the top 8 teams in League Play,

The B League will be running two round robin playoffs this season.
The A pool playoffs is for the top 8 teams in League Play,
The B pool playoffs is a sanctioned B championship for the teams not making the Pool A playoffs. (Participation on the B Pool playoffs is the choice of the teams)
Without known numbers for the B pool playoffs, the format for these divisions will be set once the teams have declared their intentions at each level.
A Pool Playoffs
• 8 Team will make the A Pool Playoff, and are seeded by their Regular Season record and standings.
• The teams will ALL play 3 round robin games starting on March 2nd through March 11th. (There will be no games on the Friday before March break).
• Teams finishing 1-4 will have to supply two ice slots ( 60 or 90 minutes depending on level) for their round robin games. All games are scheduled by the League Scheduler based on the ice submitted by associations.
• Round Robin Games can end in a tie : Two points is awarded to the winning team, and in the case of a tie each team is awarded 1 point.
• The Top 4 teams after the Round Robin will play a Semi Final Round Robin from March 22nd to April 2nd (EASTER Friday) with each team playing the other teams in the Semi Final Round Robin 1 time.
• The Top 2 teams from this Round Robin will play on Championship Day on April 4th (EASTER SUNDAY) at a designated timeslot. At this time, banners, trophies etc will be
handed out to the champions and runners up. OVERTIME WILL BE PLAYED IF TEAMS ARE TIED AT THE END OF REGULATION TIME. Overtime shall beplayed 1 ten minute period of 4-4 hockey. (Sudden Death). If no winner is determined then Additional 10 Minute periods will be played 3-3 until a winner isdeclared. (Sudden Death) There is NO SHOOTOUT.
o In the event of a penalty reducing the teams total players below 3 skaters – THE NON PENIALIZED TEAM will add a player(s) and at the end of the penalty the penalized player(s) will return to the ice IF PERMITTED. AT THE NEXT WHISTLE the sides will return to 3 on 3.
This only applied to the situation where a team has to go below 3 players.
o In 4 on 4 overtime if two players are penalized, the non penalized team will add a player to create a 5-3 situation and the penalized players will return to the ice when permitted. AT THE FIRST WHISTLE 4 on 4
Overtime will be restored.
Round Robin Chart for first Round Robin. –SEE ATTACHMENT
• The team is the finishing position in the standings. The Opp 1 – 3 are the teams you will play in the FIRST Round Robin. (The order is based on available ice).
The higher you finish in the standings the better draw you get for the Round Robin.
Round Robin Tie Breaking Procedure:
• The tie breaking rules for Round Robin play are as follows.
o IF 2 TEAMS ARE TIED HEAD TO HEAD GAME RESULT IS THE
FIRST TIE BREAK.
o If More than 2 Teams are tied or the Head to Head for 2 teams tied doesnot break the tie the following rules will be applied in order.
Most Wins
Goals For / Goals For + Goals Against (The highest percentage will advance)
League Regular Season Standing (The higher team in the standings advances if the teams remain tied after the percentage.
B League Playoff Meeting will distribute FINAL rules and regulations for the B league
Playoffs. (Held Feb 17th , odhA Hockey Office on Kilborn at 7PM) This sheet is an information sheet, and may be modified for tie breaking rules and other wording. The DATES ARE FINAL and will not change.
